Now, understand that I I have a brain still covered in scars from the MS and earlier that same year, 2011, I was told to prepare for being permanently confined to a wheelchair from the MS. My husband and I even seriously looked into ways to modify our home to make it wheelchair accesible. And at that point I was averaging 3 to 5 progressively harsher, debilitating MS relapses a year.
Since that 'leap of faith' when I threw away those meds after aggressively starting Paleo, I have had no disease progression at all.
Through all of this I learned something I didn't see coming. I had heard this before, but this time, it hit home: Medicine is sick care. Food is healthcare. Be careful what I eat. The quality of my life depends on it.
By the way, there is no cure for multiple sclerosis according to the National MS Society and the medical world. And there are widespread articles about how there is no evidence to support dietary changes as an effective means to cure or help with MS. If there was a 'cure' those drug companies would sure lose alot of money. I was spending well over $10,000 a year for those injections...
Just thought I'd let you see what I'm up against.
